Welcome to my website, My name is Kirby Faverty, I am a computer science student at Portland State University. I am excited to show you what I have learned. This is a collection of my projects that I have worked on throughout my time at PSU. I hope you enjoy!
About Me
I was born in Whitehorse, Canada and moved when I was a little kid to Yakutat, Alaska. I then moved from Yakutat to Haines when I was in 6th grade. I have always grown up in a small town and I have always loved the outdoors, which is why I love Portland even though Portland is not so much a small town. I am a huge fan of hiking, camping, and fishing. The reason why I chose Computer science because I have always been intrested in how computer works and how they can be used to solve problems. I first decided to play basketball in Missouri and a half a year in the Phillippines before I decied to go to Portland state and have been here ever since.
Previous Work
Alaska State Parks:
Energetically contributed to Alaska State Parks mastering time management, carpentry, and maintenance while
making sure the park was clean and safe through upkeep and public engagement. I also have operated heavy maintenence
while ensurig the safety of the public and the park.
Student Building Supervisor & Fitness Center Monitor:
Currently ocerseeing operations at Portland State Rec Center and ensuring the safety of the patrons as a fitness center
monitor. As a building supervisor I have overssen the facility operations and assisted patrons and equipment.
as a fitness center monitory I have learned customer service skills and how to handle difficult situations.
Educational Skills
As a computer Science Student I have learned how to program in Java, C, C++, Html, Java script and Python. I have also learned
how to use different tools such as Git, Github, and Visual Studio Code. Another skill that I have aquired as a computer science
is the ability to think technically.
